Spend Local, Shop Southend

w/c 14 September 2020

At Southend BID we’ve been talking about the need to spend locally a lot more in the last year and today is the day that our poster campaign goes live in the town. The digital posters can be seen in a variety of sizes at bus stops, in the high street, on side roads, and more with the aim of encouraging shoppers to safely Shop Southend.

Let’s eat local. We have a wide array of restaurants, cafes, pubs and bars that you can visit to enjoy dinner with your family, a spot of lunch with your partner or a drink with a friend.

Stay locally. With trips abroad filled with increasing uncertainty this is your chance to take a staycation and discover all the hidden gems that we often take for granted. We have a picturesque backdrop for autumn walks by the sea, luxury hotels and guesthouses to make you feel like you’re getting a night away, and a host of ideas for you to take part in on www.visitsouthend.co.uk.

Enjoy local businesses and activities. Plenty of places have great offers on at the moment to get customers through the door after their temporary closures earlier this year. Take this period as an excuse to try out something that’s been on your ‘to do’ list for some time and you’ll wish you would have done it sooner.

Shop local in Southend and avoid heading online or to out of town retail parks for your purchases. Our businesses have everything to offer that you could need from cards and clothes to toiletries and vinyls, and everything in between. Pack your face covering and pop into town, especially with the parking promotion still in place.

Businesses are continuing to strictly adhere to the government guidelines with your safety being the top priority so if you wear your covering, keep your distance and wash your hands then all you have to worry about is whether to buy the coat in black or green.
