Preparing to reopen

w/c 15th March 2021

If all things go well, in one month’s time we could all be spending our upcoming weekend wrapped up warm in a beer garden, indulging in some much needed retail therapy or burning off some lockdown energy at the gym.

Through the Reopening High Streets Safely fund, at Southend BID we are currently working on new communications that will reinforce safety messages for when we do start to reopen our town. We will be using public realm signage throughout Southend and in other shopping districts across the borough to encourage everyone to keep protecting each other by adhering to the hands, face, space rules and will be utilising a radio campaign to keep the public updated on the latest stage of restrictions.

Nobody wants another lockdown or delays in the roadmap dates, especially those that have had their businesses closed or been furloughed for months on end, and so the signage and radio campaign serve as a reminder to everyone to keep doing their part.

To help businesses with reopening there is a free virtual briefing being held on the 30th March at 3pm. At the session a panel consisting of public health, community and public safety specialists will be outlining the economic recovery priorities, key public health messages and the latest information around public safety. There will also be an opportunity for attendees to ask questions. To attend this session email us at Hello@SouthendBID.com and we will send you the registration link.

You can also email us to receive a link to the hospitality registration form which we will be useful to publish and promote a directory of businesses reopening dates. Complete the form so we can help raise awareness of your reopening to wider audience.
