The Must Have Accessory

w/c 20 July 2020

As of today face coverings have now become the compulsory new accessory for your Summer outfit.

In a move to extend the public transport measures which began on the 15th June, you will now need to wear a face covering from today onwards if you are venturing out to the shops or getting your weekly groceries from the supermarket. Those who don’t comply face the possibility of a £100 fine.

A recent YouGov survey found that 80% of the UK public are in support of making face coverings mandatory in shops, so could it be the case that some shoppers have been waiting for the Government to turn them from advisory to compulsory?

This new measure may give more shoppers the confidence to head to their local high street for a spending spree, or at least retailers will be hoping so. Businesses throughout the country will be eager for an additional sales boost as turnover still falls below that of previous years for a great deal of them due to over three months of closures.

We all know the drill on social distancing and cleaning our hands regularly but this extra measure will ensure we all stay safe as more businesses continue to re-open and more people start heading out into public spaces. As COVID-19 is known to spread through droplets from coughs, sneezes and speaking, wearing a covering will be an additional measure for us to keep each other safe.

If you haven’t had the chance to get yourself a mask yet then I recommend buying a reusable one so you can stay safe, do your bit for the planet and make a style statement all at the same time.

Phone, purse, keys, face mask. Add it to your check before you leave the house so you’re not caught out without this years must have accessory.
