Southend City BID Launches New Five-Year Business Plan

Updated: Oct 21, 2022

The Southend City Business Improvement District (BID) has launched its business plan outlining how it will continue to deliver support and success for businesses in Southend-on-Sea for the period of 2023-2028.

The business plan, which launches ahead of the crucial ballot period opening on Friday 7 October 2022, focuses on three key project areas that have already seen great success in recent years - those being: Manage, Market and Motivate.

Through innovative and creative projects, initiatives and activities, Southend City BID will be at the forefront of promoting the city. This will include ensuring Southend is a city of experiences and excitement for the local community and beyond through a calendar of events and activities throughout the year to encourage visitors to the city.

The BID will also build upon its work in ensuring a safe and welcoming city centre environment. This will include continued work on projects and services such as the Street Rangers, Purple Flag scheme, cleansing and enhancing the BID zone with seasonal decorations, festive lighting installations and floral displays.

Mark Bartrip, Chair and Director of Southend City BID said: “Over the past decade, Southend City BID has worked hard to deliver a range of projects, based on the priorities of businesses, which have created a strong platform for growth.

“We have listened to the priorities of businesses and our ambition for the third term is to build a better City by working with partners to capitalise on the opportunities that City status will provide. The launch of our business plan for the next five years outlines our commitment to making Southend a city where business can thrive.”
