Southend BID welcomes new Director to the board

Southend Business Improvement District (BID) is delighted to announce Chris Johnson, owner of Énergie Fitness, as a new Director.

Southend born Chris bought Énergie Fitness back in August 2019 and has been actively involved with the BID ever since, joining the Southend BID Committee back in January 2020.

Chris said “The past year on the committee has made me eager to take on a more formal role within Southend BID so I can play my part in supporting all businesses and helping to boost the recovery of our town at this especially difficult time. There will be more challenges ahead and I believe the team is well set to welcome people back safely again.

Mark Bartrip, franchisee of both McDonald’s High Street premises and Chair of the Southend BID said “We are really pleased to have appointed Chris onto the board. Chris will be able to help lead and share his ideas from the perspective of the fitness sector and also with the view of a newer business owner in the town. He will be a great asset to the town and the BID.”

Southend BID are committed to strengthening the representation of the Southend BID board and Chris joins a board of five Directors comprised from the retail, hospitality, accommodation, and leisure sectors.
