Street Ranger team on the wait list for Mental Health First Aid training – some a refresher some new.

Stats February – April

· £10,228, 824 business assists

· 89 ASB incidents

Upcoming partnership work with Police Business Crime team and Community Safety as part of ASB Awareness Week. We will be spending the morning on the 3rd July focusing on the ‘Just Here To Work’ campaign from the BCT. Informing staff that harassment within the work force and from customers is not acceptable.

Street Ranger team moving to ‘peak’ shift pattern from August – December.

ALERT system is having a lot more businesses signing up, mostly matching the numbers that were on DISC.

Community Safety

· Continue to provide daily presence across the city.

· 4 fixed penalty notices issued in the BID area for alcohol or rough sleeping.

· People are recently more willing to give up their alcohol as then they can’t be given a fine. Those that are issued a fine are taken to court.

· Community Safety Unit brought together multi-agencies including BID and police in regards to identifying prolific youths and home visits are being undertaken.

· Discussion around one individual who was breaching their CBO and the inconsistencies of responses by courts.

Police

· Op Union starts on the 23rd may which will bolster the seafront officers but also help the city centre with five additional officers a day. They will join the morning briefings with safety personnel.

· Op circuit continues – seizures of e bikes and scooters.

· NFR van – 30th may, widened the scope of what it detects.

·  Operation involving joint departments of colleagues working on one set issue.

·  PCSOs – seeing them daily on the high street, continues the high visible presence.

· Tasked with targeting the most prolific offenders with five or more thefts in the last 12 months. Involves building the intelligence between departments.

·  Discussed getting a “report it” day to highlight the need for reporting all crimes.

· Discussion around the importance of what businesses are doing themselves and at head office level to help their own staff. What is the duty of care and how are they acting on it.

·  Increasing alert membership.

·  Working with the Street Rangers on a “top three” list to work on the CBOs for. The process is working to speed up processes and get action on the current offenders.

·  4 year and 2 month sentence for 1 who breached the CBO.

·  Just here to work is a positive campaign as there are a lot of occasions people aren’t even reporting it to their businesses.
