High Street Successes

There have been a number of positive news and success storied regarding the clean up of the High Street and the ongoing issues with rough sleeping. Read about them below.


On Thursday 18th October, one of our Street Rangers successfully identified a wanted individual which resulted in their arrest. Later, another of our Street Rangers helped a homeless person off the streets by taking them to local outreach services to be registered and where they will hopefully be put into its weekend service. Other Southend services were also contacted.


Later, the doorway of Bargain Buys Southend High Street was cleared of items with fantastic results.


Continuing on from this, another member of the street community is now engaging with local services and is in accommodation. In addition, the area underneath the railway bridge has now been cleared and cleaned.


The next day, demonstrating a great example of empathy, one of our Street Rangers identified a missing person whom they accompanied until the police arrived.


On Monday 22nd October, further good news followed when the Southend BID team were informed that another member of the street community who has been active in the High Street, has now engaged with services and is in accommodation.


Continuing on from this, another member of the street community is now engaging with local services and is in accommodation. In addition, the area underneath the railway bridge has now been cleared and cleaned.
